Episode 5 Teach Us Wisdom 17::39 minutes Teach Us Wisdom brings the opera to a sober but hopeful conclusion, which emerges organically from the destruction of the previous episode. Language is restored to clarity, reconciled with music toward a mutual expression. As has been intimated all along, we see concretely in this episode that there are no warriors or Gods or refugees just human beings who know that they must unite in an effort to survive. The musical expansion also suggests this: first the melody passes among individual instrumentalists; then all the performers join in; finally the audience, too. |
