Nomadic introduces the basic themes of the opera in a clear way that prepares the audience for the more abstract and metaphoric activities of the subsequent episodes. The Refugee appears and presents her story. Natural sound samples are introduced, as is the Long Mourning theme from Goedé's Dona Nobis which will reappear throughout the opera.
